Jenny Gao is a photographer and director based in New Zealand. She loves bold, complex characters and unexpected genre mashups. She aims to make work that acts as a bridge between ideologies, cultures and ages.
She made short documentary Table for One as part of Loading Docs 2020 and is currently in post-production of a coming-of-age observational documentary series for THREE New Zealand/Discovery.
Pre-pandemic, she shot photography campaigns for the tourism sector. Clients include Japan National Tourism Organisation, Samoa Tourism and G Adventures. Before that she was a graphic & UX/UI designer.
